About
Afghan Women’s Fund (AWF) is a collective of Afghan and non-Afghan women who are committed to ensuring the human rights of Afghan women.
AWF supports the works of several different grassroots organizations and volunteer groups in Afghanistan. Such as the organizations which are working with
widows and orphans for education, empowerment of women, and health issues. These and other groups are seeking to raise the currently deplorable level of
health care and maternal and pediatric care in Afghanistan. AWF promote Afghan women through the creation of safe forums where Afghan women can network,
develop programs to meet their specific needs, and participate in human rights advocacy in the international sphere.
Ms. Vorgetts makes periodic trips to Afghanistan to deliver donations to the needy women and children of Afghanistan. Through the careful administration of AWF’
s financial donations, she funds special vocational and educational projects, as well as, purchases critical supplies for the immediate needs of the women and
children of Afghanistan. AWF raise funds for the reconstruction of Afghanistan, particularly schools and health facilities for women and children. Recognizing that
the ability to earn one’s living is fundamental to the empowerment of women; we strongly support the development of vocational training programs for women in
Afghanistan who have been denied access to education and professional training.
For nearly a decade, AWF has nurtured Afghan women desperately in need of a reliable water supply, medical clinics, literacy and craft skills, and — most of all
— education for their girls.
Afghan Women's Fund (AWF) is a fiscally sponsored project for Women for Afghan Women (WAW), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
